Endless Summer Facial Scrubbies – Free Crochet Pattern

August 16, 2019

This is a free crochet pattern for how-to crochet my Endless Summer Facial Scrubbies.

This post contains affiliate links for Consumer Crafts and LoveCrochet. If you make a purchase by clicking on them, I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support!

I’ve teamed up with Melanie of Counting Crafty Sheep, Katie of Salty Pearl Crochet, Janne of Joy of Motion and Rachel of Desert Blossom Craft, alongside 24 other bloggers for the One Skein Wonder August Blog Hop.

I put together this fun little crochet project perfect for stashbusting (or getting ahead in stocking stuffers). Alternatively, you can use these as embellishments.

If you would like a PDF version of this post, you may get one through either my EyeLoveKnots Etsy Shop, Ravelry or LoveCrafts Shop for a small fee. This fee is to compensate for the views lost when you no longer need to return to the blog to for the information, as you will have your own copy. Plus! It helps fund supplies for new projects to share with you!

Materials:

  • 15 Yards Per Scrubbie of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn – I used Lily Sugar n Cream in the Jaune [Yellow], Splash [Blue] and White colorways
  • H8/5mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
  • Optional, Jewelry Pliers

Material Notes:

Yarn Alternatives: Bernat Handicrafter, Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran, Rico Creative Cotton Aran, Crafter’s Secret Cotton Yarn (from Hobby Lobby)

Jewelry pliers are an excellent tool to use to help weave in ends, as cotton yarn can be quite tough on the fingers when weaving in with just fingers and a tapestry needle.

Time Spent:

I worked up each scrubbie in just a smidge under 15 minutes.

Measurements:

3″ Across

Abbreviations:

  • SC – Single Crochet

Pattern Notes:

The size of this flower can easily be changed – the multiple is only 1 plus 4.

For a photo tutorial of how to roll up flower, see my Frilly Flowers, Free Crochet Pattern.

Pattern:

Chain 53. SC into the 5th chain, (chain 4, SC into the next foundation chain) 49x. (50 loops)

After working last single crochet, fasten off with a long tail and pull up last stitch to break loop. Weave in initial tail end.

Thread needle with long tail, and starting at the end that does not have the yarn tails, you will begin rolling up the piece lining the edging just under the previous round – this will be the top, center of the flower.

Carefully turn over to the bottom. Make long strides working from one side of the flower to the other, making sure to work through all layers. Once to the other side, turn a little, and work across again. Continue in this manner until all has been secured.

Please feel free to make and sell your own Endless Summer Facial Scrubbies using this pattern, but please DO NOT claim this pattern as your own nor should you sell my pattern, and DO NOT re-publish my photos as your own. DO NOT copy and paste my pattern anywhere, link to it instead.

If I save it to Pinterest will the pattern be safe there? Won’t expire in 24 hours?

So, yeah. I am not a crocheter. But I have managed the long part. As for stitching up into a curl, have no clue as to the instructions. Is there a bit more helpful tutorial with visuals?

This is Road Trip Hooded Scarf. A great project to use up worsted weight yarn from your stash. I keep picturing this as a poncho. I am thinking about trying to turn it into one. What do you think? (Affiliate Link) Click this image to purchase your own copy.
