Spring Outfit: Cap Sleeve Figure Tee & Jeans

April 9, 2020

Review of the Cap Sleeve Figure Graphic Tee from SheIn. Perfect fitted top for Spring pairing with jeans or a skirt.

Cap Sleeve Top

I briefly introduced this Cap Sleeve Figure Graphic Tee last week in my Copper Nails: Daisy in Moscow post.

When I came across this top on SheIn, I was immediately interested. It’s a little out of my norm, but I love the pastel colors and abstract print – reminds me of a painting.

This is a fitted top made of a comfortable stretchy spandex/polyester blend. It feels soft and kind of silky to the touch.

There are two things I am not crazy about – touch too small, and too short. Even with these two issues though, I am keeping the top. One of my goals for this year is to lose some weight, and then this top will fit perfectly.

I am 5’5″ with a 39″ bust, and I am wearing the Extra Large size. Following the size chart, it says this size fits a 38″ bust, but I thought it would stretch to fit the extra inch – and it does, but the top is still too small. I really needed a 2X – though this is not sold in this size.

A clear sign the top is too small is bunch around the armpits like I experienced with my Black Scallop Trimmed Top, though you can’t see it in this image. I also had to keep pulling it down because it kept pulling up from a comfortable length, to this – and that’s annoying, but that’s also because it is only 21″ in length, so it’s on the shorter side.

It did pair better with my high waisted blue jeans, though I still found myself pulling it down.

I probably would have had better results if I tucked the shirt in, but that’s not really my style.

Another great pairing would be wearing it with a high waisted skirt, like shown on the site. Try THIS Solid Split Hem Skirt, THIS High Waist Skater Skirt or THIS Fishtail Hem Skirt for a similar look.

I think even a denim skirt would be great! Like this Raw Hem Belted Denim Skirt.

I love the print on that top! Too bad it’s too short. I have that issue with Shein sometimes, too. If you are handy with a sewing machine you could make it into a peplum and add some length?

Do I have a sewing machine? Yes. Am I handy? Not really – haha! Good idea though. I need to sit down, and try.

I love the colors and the print is a fun style! I’m sorry it is too short. I like your ideas through to make it work. I love looking for different kinds of tops.

Oohh, me too! I am definitely a jeans-kinda-gal so tops are my favorite. I just ordered a few yesterday, and hopefully one of them works out to have my own version of your floral top and camo bottoms.

That is so cute! It’s almost like Picasso’s. It’s annoying when the sizes don’t fit like you’d hope!

Yes – it reminded me so much of a beautiful painting that I had to get it. It is annoying that it doesn’t fit the way I want, but I am going to try to make it work. Thanks for dropping me a line 🙂
