Yarn Fanatic Linky Party #27

March 9, 2015

Welcome to the 27th Yarn Fanatic Link Party, and my 10th as co-host, alongside Rachel from The Philosopher’s Wife.

I can’t believe how quickly this week went!

This week I put together a bunch of my WIPS to share with you on WIPS Wednesday. The two most popular of my WIPS were the Frilly Dress and Madison’s Purplicious Afghan.
I have once again, set my WIPS aside to begin two other blankets – what, am I crazy?! Hehe. Not quite. I am going to be doing a mailing to a photographer friend of mine this week, and wanted to squeeze these two blankets in to send. The Madison and Tyler afghans will be put on the back burner until next week.

One thing I like to do when working on two or more of similar items, ie two colors of the same hat pattern; or, in this case, multiple colors of squares – work each color a little and then pause to get my other color up to the same point. Then, I don’t feel as if I am starting completely all over – I feel like I am getting more accomplished, faster. So, with my new blankets, they are granny squares and I have started working five in Color A, and then four in Color B, until I have reached my desired number of squares. It helps keep my focus and motivation.
I will have photos of these blankets for you on this week’s WIPS Wednesday, and hopefully, free patterns up soon!

Most Clicked:

From Left to Right:

Preemie Post Stitch Cuddle Sac from Hooks, Lines and Singers. This post is a collection of finished Baby Clothes and Items and small pattern reviews.
Since I make baby hats for donation to my local baby hospital, I have also been thinking about working up some cocoons to send too. This one is so cute – it may be Number 1 on my donation list πŸ™‚

Dream Catcher for Kids from Howling at the Moon. While there isn’t a pattern attached to this post, it is great inspiration for creating your own! You could start with almost any doily pattern, and attach to an embroidery hoop.

My Yarn Favorites:

From Top to Bottom, Left to Right:

Crochet Scallop Seashell Washcloth from Crochet is the Way. When I first saw these washcloths post a few days ago, I was close to being the first one to say how much I loved them! This is awesome. And the colors fit perfectly within the seashell theme. I can’t wait to find some yarn to put together some of these myself!

Larksfoot Pattern from Lizzie Bella Blog. This is such a neat pattern! I have never seen the Larksfoot pattern before, and I just love how these blankets came out! I also have a similar problem with wanting to and beginning multiple blankets at a time, but this may just be one of my next WIPS.

African Flowers Table Runner from Lunamon Design. I have had a table runner on my mind lately. My mom had asked for one back in December when I showed her some fabric I bought to make some blankets with… Fast forward to Spring, perhaps she will get one of these African Flowers Table Runner. I love ALL of the color combinations found on the post. Many great ideas! Also would make some great gifts for Mother’s Day.
To start, check out the African Flower Tutorial.

Golden Trumpets Vine from Crochet For You. Ever since my friend, Vy, started planning her wedding early last year, I have had a thing for crocheted flowers. This is a gorgeous Golden Trumpet flower that I will surely be adding to my list.

Little Pony Hat from The Friendly Red Fox. I brought mention to this hat at last week’s party, and I just LOVE it! How adorable is this?! This is a free pattern with sizes 9 months up to Adult, with patterns included for ear flaps, face piece, ears and the wavy hair. Can’t wait to get started on one of these for my little cousin!

Fish Baby Afghan from USS Crafty. Though this is an oldie, I am so glad it was shared with us! Even though there isn’t a pattern attached, it is such a cute idea for a nautical baby themed nursery! I also commented that viewing just one strip would also make this a neat scarf.

Spring Doily Table Runner from Sadie Seasongood. While these doilies weren’t worked up by Sadie, they are great inspiration for us! You can crochet or knit a variety of doilies and then dye them as Sadie has done. Alternatively, you could just work them up in a variety of colors. I LOVE the placement of each doily. So many options here!

Starburst Mitts from Knitting And So On. You may remember the Double Helix Mitts from last week’s party. These Starburst Mitts are quite similar but so neat in how the bright colors just burst from the insides of the hands outward. If you knit, you are in luck – this is a free knitting pattern!

My Philosopher Favorite:

I LOVE this Mint Blue Elegant Hat from The Philosopher’s Wife!

This Week’s Giveaway is sponsored by Loops of Love. Two winners will be chosen to receive the pattern of their choice. I had a hard time choosing a few to feature so I chose a bunch – I have favorited them and hoping to purchase and crochet soon! One of my favorite things about all of these patterns is the available sizes! It’s so wonderful to purchase a pattern that is available in multiple sizes!
From Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Elise Cowl Neckwarmer; Layla Wrist Warmers; Eva Slouch Hat; Sunglasses Sleep Mask; Wavy Ribbed Hat and Leg Warmers; Cora Couture Baby Bonnet; Diane Wrist Warmers; Brooklynn Bonnet and Cuddle Sack; Eloise Mini Blanket.
Must be 18 or older to enter. Open to all US crafters. Void where prohibited. Winner will be notified by The Philosopher’s Wife, and have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be drawn. Social Media is not affiliated with this giveaway. EyeLoveKnots nor The Philosopher’s Wife are responsible for prize fulfillment, rather Loops of Love is.

Thanks so much for including my washcloths in your favorites! I'm already loving everything I see this week. I have two questions – Can we share plarn projects at a "yarn" party? And what about tutorials?
    Jenny from crochetistheway.blogspot.com

    P.S. Love the Purplicious Afghan!

I LOVE the tutorials you share, Jenny! They are perfect. You are welcome to share them. And plarn projects are absolutely welcome too, as long as crocheting or knitting is being done with it.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey! I'm Alexandra, the blogger and creator behind EyeLoveKnots and On Rockwood Lane! My passion is being creative. My favorite thing to do is crochet, and you will almost always find me having a cup of coffee and working on a new crochet project, but when I'm not doing that, you might find me out at a local park rollerblading, baking some fresh cookies, picking veggies in the garden orΒ re-decorating for a new season or holiday. My two cats are great supervisors for all my adventures (minus the being outside because they think it's too hot in Florida to be anywhere but inside), and make sure I take plenty of breaks.
