My favorite thing to wear is slingback sandals, but if you are like me and also like to wear them, then you know that over time they get stretched out either behind the heel, or pull out of the toe part and both of these situations can be frustrating, especially if you love the shoes! And even more so if it is the only pair of shoes you have with you when you experience the blow-out, ugh!
These gorgeous slingbacks were stretched out around the heel, and would fall down when I was walking with them, so I decided rather than put off wearing them, that I would revive them by cutting off the slingback part, and get new wear out of them as flip flops.
I grabbed my scissors, and it literally took me about 3 minutes to cut off the slingbacks. Some material is tougher than others, so just work slowly if you have to! Mine was leather so took about two passes each of my scissors and those bad boys were loose, and I was wearing them out to run my errands!
Please feel free to upcycle your own sandals using this tutorial, but please DO NOT copy and paste my tutorial anywhere, link to it instead. nor should you sell my tutorial, and DO NOT re-publish my photos as your own.

This is so smart and so easy! Now I'm regretting throwing out some shoes in the past…

Thanks for sharing your tip at the Sew It Cook It Craft It Link Party! 🙂 It's so funny: I'm wearing sandals with cut-off slingback straps right now. 😉

Thanks for the great tip Alexandra. I've got a few sling backs in my cupboard that I can do this too.
