Super Crafty Sunday Link Up #3 – Etsy Gift Card Giveaway

March 5, 2018

Welcome to the 3rd Super Crafty Sunday Link Up!

Since last month’s party, here’s what I’ve been up to:

Whirlpool Coin Purse and the Pattern Pack Pro, Issue 41.
Women’s Ripple Fingerless Gloves – Free Crochet Pattern
Rectangle Shawl and Happily Hooked Magazine, Issue 48.

This Week’s Most Clicked Include:

Top: Retro Granny Square Coat from Atelier Marie-Lucienne – Crochet Inspiration with Basic Chart. Do you follow Marjan on Instagram? I have been following her through the process of making this coat. Though I did not know what she was working on through the follow along, I was so intrigued, especially with all the beautiful colors and patterns. This post shows the finished coat, and shows a drawing of the initial interpretation – a great technique! I think my favorite part about this coat is the pleat in the center back of the coat – don’t see things like this very often in crochet. The zipper is also an excellent addition, especially to avoid additional stretching from putting on and taking off. This is such a beautiful project! Awesome job, Marjan!

Bottom: Waffle Stitch Mug Cozy from Raji’s Craft Hobby – Free Crochet Pattern with Photo Tutorial. I love the idea of mug cozies! And this blue is just beautiful, paired with the texture of the waffle stitch – such a nice cozy! This free crochet pattern comes with a step by step photo tutorial. I will add that it doesn’t specify the yarn used, and to me, it looks like an acrylic blend. I will caution that acrylic yarn is a synthetic material that can melt, so I always recommend cotton yarn for mug cozies. I will add that cotton does not have the same bounce back as acrylic, so you will need to add a little extra at first, as you won’t be able to take stretch into consideration.

A Little From Helena:

Granny Square Poncho – Free Crochet Pattern. I am IN LOVE with this poncho! The squared neckline (I know there’s another word for it that I can’t think of right now…), the lacy appearance of the granny stitch, the flowy sides, and even the pop of the bright white. I can’t wait to get me some yarn, and try this out! I would really love to see if I can turn this into a top with armholes. The poncho would also look great turned with the points down the front and back centers.

This Month’s Giveaway is sponsored by ME! Alexandra of EyeLoveKnots. In honor of National Craft Month, one winner will receive a $30 gift card for Etsy. It will be purchased in USD. If you use a different currency, and you win, you will need to temporarily change your currency in your settings to use the gift card, then switch back after.

I would love an Etsy gift card. There aren't many opportunities to get one. I love to see handmade accessories with fabric, like fabric flower accessories!

I started on some pillows. They are blue and white floral Laura Ashley with yellow fabric on the sides and turquoise braid. I got some of the supplies from Etsy!

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey! I'm Alexandra, the blogger and creator behind EyeLoveKnots and On Rockwood Lane! My passion is being creative. My favorite thing to do is crochet, and you will almost always find me having a cup of coffee and working on a new crochet project, but when I'm not doing that, you might find me out at a local park rollerblading, baking some fresh cookies, picking veggies in the garden or re-decorating for a new season or holiday. My two cats are great supervisors for all my adventures (minus the being outside because they think it's too hot in Florida to be anywhere but inside), and make sure I take plenty of breaks.
