Four Leaf Clover – Crochet Pattern Review – Jessie at Home

February 17, 2019

These four leaf clovers have been coming for a while.

I worked on three different ones a while back as part of a custom order. I will have reviews on the other two soon, but the Four Leaf Clover (top one) from Jessie at Home was my favorite! It was the quickest, and easiest to work up, and really was just a perfect little design.

I have a fun little project coming to you on Tuesday as part of the February Pinterest Challenge, and in it, I will show you one way to use this four leaf clover!

Materials:

  • Small Amount of Yarn – I used Baby Bee’s Sweet Delight Yarn (lightweight yarn), artiste 10 cotton thread, and some sewing thread
  • Respectively, I used a G6/4mm crochet hook, a 2.35mm hook, and a 1.30mm hook (only because I couldn’t find my 0.75mm)
  • Tapestry/Sewing Needle to Weave in Ends
  • Four Leaf Clover, Free Crochet Pattern from Jessie at Home

Material Notes:

The awesome thing about motifs like this is you can use any yarn with respective hook to get the perfect size you are looking for! I had a special project in mind (which you’ll see on Tuesday!), so I made the three sizes to see which worked out better.

Time Spent:

In the two larger weights, I worked my motif up in just under 15 minutes. The sewing thread took me a little longer at around 20 minutes.

Measurements:

  • Lightweight = 2.63″ (5/8) wide by 3″ tall
  • Crochet 10 Thread = 1.75″ wide by 2″ tall
  • Sewing Thread = .93″ (7/8) wide by .93″ (7/8) tall

Pattern Notes:

This pattern was so straight forward, easy to follow, and quick to work up.

The design is excellent. The petals lay flat, and come out even without needing to shape.

Definitely recommended! Try in different weights to produce different sizes. I had a lot of fun experimenting to see which worked best for me. I can’t get over how adorable the little sewing thread one is!

Ah four leaf clovers. Very cute. My mum was always very good at finding the real thing in a batch of clover! Thanks for joining in my Ginx Woolly Linx Party for February.
