Yarn Fanatic Linky Party #28

March 16, 2015

Welcome to the 28th Yarn Fanatic Link Party, and my 11th as co-host, alongside Rachel from The Philosopher’s Wife.

This week I’ve been working on some baby blankets. Almost done! Can’t wait to send them off to my friend, and receive some cute pictures of them in use πŸ™‚

On this week’s WIPS Wednesday, I showed a preview of the Denim Blues Baby Blanket (Left), and the Sweet Fantasy Baby Blanket (Right).
I am now just working on the border of the Denim Blues Blanket, and then will start joining the Sweet Fantasy one tonight.

Most Clicked:
Left to Right:
Lacy Grey Crocheted Cowl from Kiku Corner. This free cowl pattern is worked in fingering weight yarn, making this cowl a great accessory for the upcoming Spring season.

How to Crochet a Shamrock from Midwestern Moms. Devon has shared a free crochet pattern for creating some cute little shamrocks – just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! Sew on a pin back, and you’ve got the perfect pinch-proof accessory.

Sophie’s Universe CAL Week 5 & 6 from Alice in Hobbyland. Alice is doing a fantastic job working on her Sophie’s Universe CAL. This is going to be one beautiful blanket!

My Yarn Favorites:
Left to Right, Top to Bottom:
Tunisian Spiral Blanket from Roses’ Crafts. I really love how this blanket is coming along. Similar to the Log Cabin pattern. I really love the idea, and I think I am inspired to work up my own version.

Pineapple Thread Table Runner from Lunamon Designs. Number 1: Beautiful pineapple pattern; Number 2: Cute little flowers; Number 3: I LOVE THE COLORS!

Crochet Edge on Fleece Blankets from The Friendly Red Fox. I LOVE working up fleece blankets with the crochet border. I have done a few, and they have proven to be quite popular on the blog, and with the recipients of the blankets. So nice of Kali to provide us with five, easy and fun patterns!

11″ Fashion Doll Blue Ball Gown from Tess and Annie. What a gorgeous dress! I love how the crocheted top is added to a Tulle skirt. How lovely!

EmbROADery Summer Road Trip Keepsake from Sadie Seasongoods. What a neat idea! I have only been on a few major road trips, and all to New Jersey to see family, but I have been talking to my boyfriend, Chad, about going on some small road trips around us, since we’re not really too far from surrounding states. I think I may have to borrow this embROADery idea in our next trip to add to my memory book.

My Philosopher Favorite:

I went back to this time, 2012 to see what Rachel was working on and found this Girlie and Graceful Crochet Ruffle Scarf. I have a scarf that has been a WIP for quite some time now, with one of my niece’s in mind that is similar to this but a shell edge, no ruffle. This version is super cute though! And both colors she worked up look great.

This Week’s Giveaway is sponsored by Carlinda of The Hook Hound. Not sure about you, but I have been drooling over her Cabled Owl patterns for quite some time now. I have many favorited and on my list of patterns to buy and items to make.
One lucky winner will receive the pattern to make the It’s a Hoot Owl Texting Gloves, and a second winner will receive a pattern of their choosing.
From Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

Thanks for the lovely comments. The Tunisian Spiral hasn't seen any progress this week because I'm still trying to finish other things. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished blankets.

Not only is your Pom Pom Bunny adorable! I love how wide "yarn crafts" can stretch. This is a great example of other ways we can use our yarn. Thanks for sharing it.

Granny Square Afghan

(Affiliate Link) I am so in love with the new Granny Square Afghan Kit Club from Annie's Kit Clubs! Granny squares have always held a special place in my heart, and I love the variety! In fact, there are over 90 unique granny squares in here! This club spans 12 months. Each month, you get a new set of instructions and yarn. There are also video tutorials to walk you through each step. Don't want to make an afghan? This is still a great kit to learn different granny stitch patterns, and the squares so versatile! Sew them together to make a scarf, tote bag, cardigan and so much more! Click this image to get more details and join this club!
