Witch Inspired Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch or Small Gift Bag – Free Crochet Pattern

October 19, 2019

I remade my Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch or Small Gift Bag using witch inspired colors for Halloween. You’ll find the free crochet pattern linked in the materials.

This post contains affiliate links for LoveCrafts and WeCrochet. If you make a purchase by clicking on them, I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support!

This is a free crochet pattern found here on the EyeLoveKnots blog, but I’m sharing different details in this post to explain how I created the cozies you see. Skip to the free crochet pattern instructions here, or purchase a printer-friendly, ad-free PDF on Ravelry by clicking here.

In October of 2017, I shared my Candy Corn Inspired Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch, or Small Gift Bag. It was then that I created this witch inspired version, and it’s since been sitting in one of my WIP bin. Yikes!

Originally, I didn’t really have enough time to share it after my first, but then two years passed while it sat in the bin needing only the ends to be weaved in on the tie.

About a month ago, I wrote down on my planner that I wanted to get it ready to share this year. I have been working really hard on several custom orders I have going on all at the same time, and I got a little behind, so after work today, I came home and dug through several areas in my living room where my WIPs are looking for this cozy. I was getting a little discouraged, but then I thought of one last place I could have put it, and I found it! Yay!

There is still plenty of time to work up a bunch of these, stuff with candy and/or favors and stock up for the sweet little trick or treaters, or to hand out at a Halloween party.

Alternatively, it makes a great soap cozy as well. You could even make a Halloween themed soap to include in it as a gift!

AD-FREE, PRINTER FRIENDLY PDF:

Materials:

  • About 50 Yards of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn – I used Lily Sugar n Cream in Hot Green, Black Current [Bright Purple] and Black
  • H8/5mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
  • Optional, Jewelry Pliers
  • Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch or Small Gift Bag, Free Crochet Pattern

Material Notes:

Yarn Alternatives: WeCrochet Dishie, Bernat Handicrafter, Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran, Rico Creative Cotton Aran.

Jewelry pliers are an excellent tool to use to help weave in ends, as cotton yarn can be quite tough on the fingers when weaving in with just fingers and a tapestry needle.

Time Spent:

I had my cozy ready in about 45 minutes.

Pattern Notes:

I worked my colors as Black, Purple and Green, respectively. And I thought the Hot Green would make a great little pop for the tie.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey! I'm Alexandra, the blogger and creator behind EyeLoveKnots and On Rockwood Lane! My passion is being creative. My favorite thing to do is crochet, and you will almost always find me having a cup of coffee and working on a new crochet project, but when I'm not doing that, you might find me out at a local park rollerblading, baking some fresh cookies, picking veggies in the garden or re-decorating for a new season or holiday. My two cats are great supervisors for all my adventures (minus the being outside because they think it's too hot in Florida to be anywhere but inside), and make sure I take plenty of breaks.
