Crochet Filled Christmas Tree 2020

November 9, 2020

Come over and check out my Crochet Filled Christmas Tree in shades of gray, red and white. I even added in a few buffalo plaid ornaments trying to go for a more modern farmhouse look – not sure I nailed it just yet. Hehe! You’ll also find 25 other Christmas trees from my friends!

Welcome back to year 6 of our Festive Christmas Event!

In this event, we team up with a bunch of talented blogging friends to bring you a plethora of creative ways to celebrate your holiday season.

We will be baking some cookie recipes for you, sharing some party games, making some handmade gifts, doing some ornament crafting, and sharing our Christmas movies family fun. There will be breakfast recipes and as always our decorated Christmas Trees which is always a fun tour of homes.

You will find new ideas every Monday and Wednesday between Oct. 19th through Nov. 18th. Scroll all the way down to find all the ideas linked at the end.

Today the theme is the Christmas Tree!

I really struggled with this one this year. I pulled out the Christmas tree from the spare room closet a couple weeks ago because I was organizing the closet and spare room a bit, so the tree went onto the porch, and has been there since.

My home is tiny (about 700 square foot in total), so I don’t have many options for the Christmas tree. It usually goes either on my dining room table, or last year I shared my Red & Gray Christmas Tree, and tried it next to the table (shown above). I thought about trying it here again this year, but it really stuck out too much, and we kept hitting it as we past through the main hallway there to the left.

This year, I tried taking photos of it on the porch, and I kept striking out, and I got quite frustrated. It’s one thing to enjoy the tree all set up, and another thing to try to photograph it amongst everything around it, and get nice lighting. I did snap this photo on the porch though, and finally, I think it’s doable.

All of these ornaments and the tree were sitting in the spare closet, where all the rest of my Christmas stuff was moved into our brand new shed about a month ago, and I was feeling inspired to dig through it just yet so the tree is missing a proper star on the top, but I really like that clear, glittery one that I put up there.

On the tree, you’ll find my Buffalo Plaid Bauble Ornaments (free crochet pattern) that I made last year. These three are also featured in (affiliate link) Annie’s Christmas 2020 special edition! I am trying to go for more of a farmhouse look, but I am not quite sure these fit with the rest of the decor. Maybe I just need more of it?

You’ll also find my Celtic Weave Bauble Ornaments (free crochet pattern) in gray and metallic silver to match my theme better.

AND! My newest free bauble crochet pattern that I shared last week – Lightweight Bauble Ornament.

I hope you enjoyed my cute, little tree! Please visit my fellow makers that are also participating in this festive blog hop!

I wouldn’t expect anything less than a crochet Christmas tree from you, Alexandra! I absolutely love it and am bookmarking it to show my crochet loving daughter. I bet you could crochet a stunning topper for your tree too.

Hehe. My reputation proceeds me. I was thinking of making a topper – I’ve seen where they make angels, and block them around a cone to get the shape. I am not sure what to put at the top of the tree though…

Alexandra, I’ve seen crochet snowflakes but not sure I’ve ever seen a crocheted ornament! I will have to try one of these! Pinned!

So glad you like it! I try to think out of the box when I work, though I do love the delicate look of the crocheted snowflakes. I may need to add a few.

I love this tree! These crocheted ornaments are fabulous. I have seen trees full of crocheted snowflakes, but never one that was crocheted ornaments. Thank you for sharing.
