Kinsley Blake is my newest EyeLoveKnots line, and features easy knitting patterns worked in a variation of the beginner friendly garter stitch. Right now there is only one design, but I will definitely be adding more – in fact, I already have some designs finished and in the works. Check more of them out right here.
When I signed up for 24 Days of Quickies with Marly, all of the crochet spots were already filled, and though my knitting skills are pretty basic, I did not hesitate to sign up for a knitting spot. Call me crazy, but more opportunity to practice my knitting, right?

Each day, a new designer will be featured with their holiday quickie (crochet or knit), and the PDF will be free for day. More than 50 free crochet and knit patterns included this year! Make sure to visit with Marly HERE, and sign up to receive her newsletter so you don’t miss out on any of the beautiful designs!
In the past, my feelings about knitting (and tunisian crochet) have been this: I enjoy it, but it just takes sooooo long to build up the fabric because the stitch heights aren’t substantial. To me, it’s the equivalent to crocheting in single crochet all the time. One thing re-vamped my excitement for knitting this year though – Bernat Blanket Yarn!
I have a ton of this in my yarn stash from previous projects, and decided I would make my project this year in this yarn, and it worked out perfectly! I enjoyed working on this scarf so much, I already finished another project, and started another. I can’t wait to share them with you!

Let’s talk about the stitch pattern really quickly. I won’t lie to you, I worked up this whole entire scarf thinking I was doing the proper garter stitch pattern, and that it just looked a little off because it was in the plushy yarn. When I went to double check that I was doing the bind off row correctly (because it’s been a while since I knit), I noticed I didn’t insert my needles the same way. I reached out to some friends to show them how I worked the stitch, and asked what I was actually doing, and it turns out it’s called “Knitting Through the Back Loop”. It’s a variation of the knit stitch, but worked into the back loop so it twists the stitches.

Guys, I am in love with this stitch! While it’s a little tighter to work with on the needles, I found I had so much more control over my stitches, and my fabric turned out much nicer than it ever did in the past with knit stitch.

Cozy! I have been trying to wear my warm scarves more even if for just half the day. Only homemade one is a fleece infinity one I made at a craft party years ago.

I may have missed it in the pattern, I did read it a few times but I don’t see anywhere the yarn amounts required for each size?
Sure, it’s right in the Materials section near the top.
Thank you so much, I see it now, got a little too excited about a new awesome pattern.
