Free crochet pattern for how to crochet the C2C Fall Vibes Squares perfect for a Fall throw pillow or afghan.
Find the free crochet pattern instructions below, or purchase a printer-friendly, ad-free PDF on Ravelry by clicking here.

August had me feeling all the Fall Vibes, so I decided to create this C2C square that I plan on turning into a throw pillow. This square is also great as part of an afghan mixed in with squares worked in other Fall images, or corresponding solid colors.
Because I made this pillow for my own home decor, I worked it to one of my preferred pillow sizes – 16″, but if you would like to see written instructions for another size (from 18″ – 24″), just leave me a comment letting me know.

16″ Square

5 Boxes = 4.25″ Wide by 4.13″ Tall
Abbreviations (US Terms):
- C2C – Corner to Corner (Photo Tutorial for DC Boxes)
- DC – Double Crochet (Photo Tutorial)
- SC – Single Crochet (Photo Tutorial)
Pattern Notes:
Square grows from the bottom right corner upward.
This pattern is written with colors and boxes only. If you would like more details on how to work the corner to corner technique, and the basic shape of this square – visit my Basic C2C Throw Pillow pattern, and follow the instructions for the respective size. I also have a photo tutorial showing how to work the Corner to Corner Stitch Pattern in DC Boxes.
Beginning chain 2 counts as a double crochet.
A box is comprised of four double crochet’s.
The “space under the same chain joined to” is defined as the space between the last two double crochets of the previous rows box.
Working the final double crochet into the top of the chain from the previous row helps to keep the edge more even. After completing the first box, you may also need to lightly tug on it to keep it even as well.
I worked my original 16″ size in the colors given in the materials section and noted in the written pattern. Replace the colors as needed with your own combo.
