Red Apple for Teacher Appreciation – Crochet Pattern Review
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up the first week of May and I wanted to make something for my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher. Giving a teacher an apple may be a little bit of a dated cliché but this one is cute so I think it gets a pass.

Ribbed Granny Stitch Cowl – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern is so fun, simple, and easy. The ribbing takes the bulk of the time, and then suddenly you just do a few rows of basic shaping and it’s done, you have a new accessory ready to go! The texture lends itself to both solid and variegated yarns beautifully, and lets you choose if you want a neutral to go with everything or a bright rainbow to add some pop to your outfit!
Honey the Hedgehog – Crochet Pattern Review
This hedgehog is so darn cute, and you can cuddle this one without getting poked! The pattern is well written, includes photos and works up just like it should, but keep in mind, this project requires your full attention – no watching TV with this one.
Sunset Sweater – Crochet Pattern Review
I had a lot of fun making this simple-but-gorgeous piece! This sweater is definitely one that will get people asking “where did you buy that?” quickly followed by “there’s no way you MADE that!” It’s an interesting silhouette, it was literally designed to look good with variegated yarn, and it’s also comfy! It was a no-brainer.

Pistachio Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. The cowl and the body are both in a simple repetitive pattern comprised of easy half double crochets, chains and double crochets, and worked from top down, it makes it very easy to try on as you go to make sure it fits just the way you like. I had trouble meeting gauge, and was able to adjust how I needed to make it fit, but if gauge is met, there is no doubt in my mind that this project wouldn’t be great for a confident beginner.
Woodbury Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. Don’t let the pattern scare you at all because it’s worked in just simple chains, single crochets and treble crochets. If you can work a double crochet, a treble crochet is just one extra yarn over in the beginning, and one extra yarn over and pull through in the end making this a great project for a confident beginner, and a plus – it can be worn two ways.
