I can’t praise the texture enough. I’ve always been a fan of post stitches, as soon as I got familiar enough with them to like doing it (I used to hate them as a beginner and now I’m doing designs with them!) It gives you such an impressive look with a very approachable technique. That’s actually why I clicked on this pattern on Ravelry in the first place, the texture.

Twisted Hoody Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
The result was something that will certainly become my favorite fall accessory. It’s warm, but not heavy. The hood is nice to block out a breeze but loose enough that it’s not constricting. And the little accents like fringe and tassels totally elevate this from a basic poncho to a stylish conversation starter. The texture lends itself to both solid and variegated yarns beautifully, and lets you choose if you want a neutral to go with everything or a bright rainbow to add some pop to your outfit!
Pistachio Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. The cowl and the body are both in a simple repetitive pattern comprised of easy half double crochets, chains and double crochets, and worked from top down, it makes it very easy to try on as you go to make sure it fits just the way you like. I had trouble meeting gauge, and was able to adjust how I needed to make it fit, but if gauge is met, there is no doubt in my mind that this project wouldn’t be great for a confident beginner.
Woodbury Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. Don’t let the pattern scare you at all because it’s worked in just simple chains, single crochets and treble crochets. If you can work a double crochet, a treble crochet is just one extra yarn over in the beginning, and one extra yarn over and pull through in the end making this a great project for a confident beginner, and a plus – it can be worn two ways.

This pattern is mindless because it’s just one row that you repeat for the entire length. You also don’t have a strict row count, it’s a length suggestion. So you can turn off your brain and just stitch along to a movie. The finished shawl is gorgeous and will make a wonderful conversation-starter accessory for spring evenings when heavy coats aren’t needed anymore.
