40 Free Crochet Headband Patterns
Headbands are wonderful in the spring or fall, when you want a little bit of coverage against the wind but don’t want to get too warm. I still enjoy wearing a cute beanie all day, don’t get me wrong, but in these awkward in-between seasons I’m more likely to reach for a headband while I’m running out the door! I’ve rounded up 40 of my favorite free crochet headband patterns!
Volume One Hand Towel – Free Crochet Pattern
For a few months now, I’ve wanted to make a sampler project. Last week, I finally grabbed some Lily Sugar n Cream Yarn out of my stash in my favorite Ecru colorway, and started on this Volume One Hand Towel, which combines 6 stitch patterns.
Gwendolyn Doily – Free Crochet Pattern | Easy Granny Square Doily
How to crochet an easy granny square doily! This Gwendolyn Doily is worked with just simple granny squares joined together. It is so easy to add more if you want a larger doily too!
Ribbed Granny Stitch Cowl – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern is so fun, simple, and easy. The ribbing takes the bulk of the time, and then suddenly you just do a few rows of basic shaping and it’s done, you have a new accessory ready to go! The texture lends itself to both solid and variegated yarns beautifully, and lets you choose if you want a neutral to go with everything or a bright rainbow to add some pop to your outfit!
Honey the Hedgehog – Crochet Pattern Review
This hedgehog is so darn cute, and you can cuddle this one without getting poked! The pattern is well written, includes photos and works up just like it should, but keep in mind, this project requires your full attention – no watching TV with this one.
Sheryl Tee – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. The fabric is comprised of simple double crochets and chains, and it’s a basic construction of two identical rectangles sewn together. This a great project for a confident beginner. It will be versatile top that I can see paired with jeans, shorts or over a maxi dress.
Pistachio Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. The cowl and the body are both in a simple repetitive pattern comprised of easy half double crochets, chains and double crochets, and worked from top down, it makes it very easy to try on as you go to make sure it fits just the way you like. I had trouble meeting gauge, and was able to adjust how I needed to make it fit, but if gauge is met, there is no doubt in my mind that this project wouldn’t be great for a confident beginner.
Woodbury Poncho – Crochet Pattern Review
This pattern was very easy to follow. Don’t let the pattern scare you at all because it’s worked in just simple chains, single crochets and treble crochets. If you can work a double crochet, a treble crochet is just one extra yarn over in the beginning, and one extra yarn over and pull through in the end making this a great project for a confident beginner, and a plus – it can be worn two ways.
